This DIY sugar scrub is the beginning tutorial on many variations of sugar scrubs. Sugar scrubs can be used in the bath or shower to exfoliate and soften your skin. They also help to improve your skin’s circulation. They’re very simple to make, so let’s garb some supplies and get started.

The first thing you’ll need is some white sugar. The sugar is going to act as are exfoliant. It’s going to help to gently massage away the dead skin and leave your skin nice and soft. It’s a very lovely and gentle exfoliant to use. There are a lot of types to ingredients you can use as an exfoliant. I like sugar scrubs because they’re a lot more gentle. Then next thing you’ll need in any sugar scrub is a basic oil. We’ll be using olive oil because it’s something you probably have on hand. There are a lot of types you can use I will list those below but for this tutorial we’ll be using the olive oil. Then you’ll need several drops of your favorite essential oil in it. I’ll be using Lemon Eucalyptus. Those are your three basic ingredients for any basic sugar scrub. Then I’ll need some tools from my kitchen, a couple of bowls, some measuring cups, a spoon to stir everything together with, and a wire whisk.

The first step is to grab are sugar. We are going to measure one cup of sugar into are bowl. I like to make this smaller batches so it stays nice and fresh. Then you’re going to grab your olive oil and measure one third of a cup of olive oil into a separate bowl. Then grab your essential oil. Lemon Eucalyptus is really pretty. I love anything citrus and eucalyptus is very cleansing and smells really pretty. You’re going to add anywhere from ten to fifteen drops of your favorite essential oil. Then with your wire whisk give them a good stir. What this will do is mix the essential oils into your olive oil and get that nice and combined together. Then poor it all in to your sugar. Using the back of your spoon press the oils into your sugar and mix it all together. At this point if you want your sugar scrub to be a little bit more creamy or oily add a little bit more of your olive oil. If you want it to be more thicker just add a little bit more of your sugar. Then I’m using these cute little mason jars that I found. Just grab a spoon, spoon them in to your mason jar.

That’s it for this DIY sugar scrub, you’re all set. The next step is to grab a little hand full before you hop out of the bath or shower. Use a little bit of your sugar scrub to massage into your feet your hands your arms and your legs. It is a really lovely way to give your skin a bright healthy glow, help with circulation. It’s crazy how soft my feet are. Not only is this DIY sugar scrub a great addition to any beauty routine, it’s inexpensive and they make lovely gifts.

About The Author

I am "The" untidy artist.

I was born in Highland Utah. I'm married with 4 crazy kids. My husband is always on my case about cleaning my craft room (blah blah blah). Both of my parents were artists and I think I got some of their artistry bug in me. A few years ago I started messing around with hair accessroies and had so many people ask to purchase them that I decided to start teaching others how to make them. That turned into my Youtube channel and this website. Hope you enjoy the tutorials!!!
