This DIY sugar scrub with lavender and oatmeal is simple and easy to make. Sugar scrubs are great to use in the bath or the shower to gently exfoliate your skin. I really love using lavender and oatmeal there very soothing and gentle on the skin also very calming. So, let’s grab are supplies and get started.

Now, the first thing you’ll need is white sugar. Just basic white sugar that you’ll probably already have on hand in your kitchen. And this is going to work to gently exfoliate the skin. Then you’ll need a couple of different kinds of oil. You’ll need some coconut oil, and some grape seed oil. Then we’ll be using some lavender buds in are sugar scrub today so you’ll need some dried lavender. I just found these at my health foods store. You’ll also need some lavender essential oil. Then we’ll be adding some honey to are sugar scrub. Honey is actually antibacterial it’s very softening. It also works as a natural preservative, so well be putting that in are sugar scrub also. And then we’ll be using some oats. Were just using some old fashioned oatmeal. Were going to grind it up in are blender and when you mix that with water the different oils and the sugar scrub it’s going to make an oat milk that’s a very soothing substance. This is going to calm the skin and soften it. Then you’ll need some things from your kitchen. I’m going to be using a small bowl and then a larger bowl for mixing and stirring. You’ll need some different measuring tools. I have a one cup measuring cup, a teaspoon and a tablespoon. Then I have just a regular spoon for stirring and a little whisk that’s going to help us mix everything up. Last but not least, you’ll need something to put your sugar scrub in to. I like using these little canning jars. They’re inexpensive and they’re really cute.

So, let’s get started. The first step is to grab your sugar then measure one cup of your sugar into your bowl. Then grab your oatmeal and before you mix it in to your sugar scrub. You want to take one cup of your oats blend them up in the blender and turn them in to this fine powder. Then you’ll measure out two tablespoons of that into your sugar and give it a good stir. The reason I blend up one cup at a time is because it’s easier than if it’s a fourth of a cup. Then go ahead and grab your grape seed oil. We’ll be using one tablespoon of the grape seed oil. Then you’ll take three tablespoons of your melted coconut oil and measure that in to the bowl. Then we’ll add in one tablespoon of our honey I love using honey in any type of body beauty product. It’s so lovely for your skin. Then you’ll put in some drops of lavender oil. I do about ten drops of the lavender oil. Then give it a nice good whisk with your wire whisk to mix all of those ingredients together. You’ll want to mix the essential oils and the honey in with the coconut oil and the grape seed oil. Then mix that in to your sugar and your oats and give it a nice stir. It’ll start to get nice and fluffy and all mixed together. Then I’m going to take about a half spoon of lavender buds and stir those in. This smells so absolutely amazing and it’s so pretty on your skin. Then the last step is to just scoop this in to a little jar and you are good to go.

To use this DIY sugar scrub with lavender and oatmeal; right after you get out of the shower, grab a little handful of this and massage it on to your skin. You can see here on the top of my jar I used a big hole punch. I cut out a piece of contact paper and put that on the top. I liked how it looked.

I was born in Highland Utah. I'm married with 4 crazy kids. My husband is always on my case about cleaning my craft room (blah blah blah). Both of my parents were artists and I think I got some of their artistry bug in me. A few years ago I started messing around with hair accessroies and had so many people ask to purchase them that I decided to start teaching others how to make them. That turned into my Youtube channel and this website. Hope you enjoy the tutorials!!!
